1st Annual Meeting of China's Economy Held

  Organized by CCTV-2 and co-organized by CCIEE, the first Annual Meeting of China's Economy was held in Beijing on January 17, 2010. Among the topics were global economic recovery and forecasting, analyzing and forecasting China's economy, and challenges & opportunities in 2010.

  Zeng Peiyan, Chairman of CCIEE, attended the opening ceremony. Keynote speeches addressing the conference theme, "Analyzing and Forecasting China's Macro-economy: China's Experience in 2009," were delivered by Zhang Guobao, Vice Chairman of CCIEE, Vice Chairman of NDRC and Director of the Energy Bureau under NDRC; Chen Yuan, Executive Vice Chairman of CCIEE and Chairman of State Development Bank; Zhang Xiaoqiang, Executive Vice Chairman of CCIEE and Vice Chairman of NDRC; Liu He, Standing Director of CCIEE and Deputy Director of the Office of Central Financial Work Leading Group; Liu Zunyi,Executive Vice Chairman of CCIEE and President of the Chinese University of Hong Kong; Li Yining, Executive Vice Chairman of CCIEE and Professor of Peking University, and Fan Gang, Principal Researcher of CCIEE.

  After the opening ceremony, participants went into panel discussion of "China's Experience in 2009," "Global Economic Recovery & Outlook," "Analyzing and Forecasting China's Economy: Seeking New Opportunities of Economic Growth," "Challenges and Opportunities: Boosting Domestic Consumption in 2010."

  At the 4th panel which featured "Global Economic Recovery: How We See the World," Wang Chunzheng, Executive Vice Chairman of CCIEE, and Zhang Yunling, a member of CCIEE Academic Committee, respectively introduced two reports issued by CCIEE: "China Economic Analysis & Outlook" and "World Economic Analysis & Outlook." Zhang Yunling, together with Wei Jianguo, Secretary General of CCIEE, Zhang Zhigang, Chief Economist of CCIEE, Zhang Xiang, Standing Director of CCIEE, Liu Kegu, Deputy Director of CCIEE Academic Committee, released the following five CCIEE Indices: Chinese Economy Prosperity Index, World Economy Prosperity Index, CCIEE Commodity Price Index, CCIEE-SJTU Global Shipping Prosperity Index, and China Economic Transformation Evaluation Index. The participating experts introduced the research findings of CCIEE and offered their perspectives on the current state of and outlook for Chinese and global economy.
